Imagination In Motion

Placing things into motion is an art form that when mastered can be a beautiful thing.

Interactive zipper merging animation.

Some time ago Zip Merging started being encouraged by several State Transportation Departments. I have driven on some busy roads and in situations where two lanes become one lane and I know how people react. It seemed like a crazy idea and I still believe it is. Zip merging is back in the news and I thought it was time to get to the bottom of it.

What I used and work flow:

  • Canon Rebel t5i
  • Canon 55-200mm lens
  • Tripod
  • Adobe Camera Raw
  • Adobe Photoshop CC

Description: The first of several projects with fruit. In this case I used Roma Tomatoes harvested from a single plant. I also photographed the harvesting itself, that project is coming soon.

Photos were taken removing the fruit and placing the fruit into the bowl. Each tomato was carefully placed in the container then a photo was taken using the on board two second delay so there we're no issues with vibration from movement. The vessel was placed under a tree and with changing light conditions due to clouds, sun breaks and mild wind the camera focus adjusted repeatedly which was not what I really wanted.

Original Output file: GIF format

High Quality version in HTML5 coming soon.
